Yelling, Rolling and her Plug

Some of you may have already heard me talking about getting "yelled at" by Kel. She's really funny about things and is quite particular and vocal about what she wants. It's rarely a crying thing, rather, she YELLS until she gets her way or just to "talk" to you. This morning for instance, she was mad that we were still sleeping at 5am and started yelling until we got up to get her. It definitely makes for an interesting morning.

As we speak she's rolling over and over across the rug in our den while James claps for her and plays Angry Birds on his "phone" (iPod touch....not that that makes it any better). Of course, right after I stopped recording the video below she rolled over. But as usual, I can't seem to get it on camera. You can however get a taste of her yelling and the amount of movement that she's always doing. We're also LOVING that she can just about plug herself which is a lifesaver. Gotta love the wubbanubs :)

Haircut

Kel was getting a bit of a mullet so I HAD to do something about it. Especially since her hair is growing in blond, which made the back look really funny. So, I put her in the bumbo on a towel and gave her a haircut. I cut about 2 inches off the back so that it's an earlobe length bob. Still too chicken to do the front but her bangs will get trimmed eventually. And hopefully the top will get heavy enough to sit DOWN sometime in the near future. She's got quite the cowlick going on...

Note the pink pirate leg warmers :)

It's really  hard to get them both still and smiling. Oh well. James was playing with Kel and was trying to hold her hand for a photo. He got new leg warmers this week too. Dinosaurs of course :)

Another Random

And one of my favorites. I was just scrolling through my phone and re-found this photo.

PRINCESS SHOES! :)

Age and Changes

I've noticed that I've been having more "Wow, I'm officially OLD....when did that happen?!?!?!" moments lately. The most recent one was last night as I rushed home from work, picked up James from school, got home and then got both kids ready to head right BACK to school for Back to School Night. It was very surreal actually. One of those "grown-up" moments where I just can't believe that it's ME acting like the responsible put-together adult. Especially since most of the time I still feel like a kid. Time really flies.

The kids had a blast though! James ran around with all his school friends, which was just hysterical to watch, and I got to hang out with some of the other parents that I've met over the last year and a half here. His teacher is AWESOME and all-in-all school couldn't be any better for him. Kel also made a friend. There is another mom who had her 3rd son just 2 days after Kel was born so we sat and had them "play" together. Watching the two of them interact was really funny. They were totally fascinated with each other. That is, until James started coming in and out of the room. Then Kel wanted down to roll around and watch him and the other big kids. We've definitely got to social butterflies on our hands. Kel would YELL at us if either the baby or one of the big kids wasn't entertaining her enough. LOL.

As for the 2nd part of this post, Mike and I (after much consideration) are making a few changes. Mike has officially resigned from Roku (last day is 10/14 as far as we know). He's now going to be working part-time at a restaurant at South Coast to be closer to home and not working such crazy hours any more. So, things will be a bit crazy for us for the next few months as we adjust our schedules and get used to the fact that Mike will actually be HOME more often. Hey, you guys might even see him once in a while now! No word on what his official schedule will be yet, but we do know that it will be fairly consistent.

So, that's the recent Q update. Chaos, chaos, and more chaos. What else should I expect?

Playing Together

I can't get over how much they look alike! And the tongue sticking out is Kel's favorite smile right now. This girl just can't resist sticking it out at you if you smile at her. She's also started to "beat box". LOL. Constant chatter and sounds. James is the only one who can consistently make her laugh. She absolutely adores him.
