And one of my favorites. I was just scrolling through my phone and re-found this photo.

Age and Changes
I've noticed that I've been having more "Wow, I'm officially OLD....when did that happen?!?!?!" moments lately. The most recent one was last night as I rushed home from work, picked up James from school, got home and then got both kids ready to head right BACK to school for Back to School Night. It was very surreal actually. One of those "grown-up" moments where I just can't believe that it's ME acting like the responsible put-together adult. Especially since most of the time I still feel like a kid. Time really flies.
The kids had a blast though! James ran around with all his school friends, which was just hysterical to watch, and I got to hang out with some of the other parents that I've met over the last year and a half here. His teacher is AWESOME and all-in-all school couldn't be any better for him. Kel also made a friend. There is another mom who had her 3rd son just 2 days after Kel was born so we sat and had them "play" together. Watching the two of them interact was really funny. They were totally fascinated with each other. That is, until James started coming in and out of the room. Then Kel wanted down to roll around and watch him and the other big kids. We've definitely got to social butterflies on our hands. Kel would YELL at us if either the baby or one of the big kids wasn't entertaining her enough. LOL.
As for the 2nd part of this post, Mike and I (after much consideration) are making a few changes. Mike has officially resigned from Roku (last day is 10/14 as far as we know). He's now going to be working part-time at a restaurant at South Coast to be closer to home and not working such crazy hours any more. So, things will be a bit crazy for us for the next few months as we adjust our schedules and get used to the fact that Mike will actually be HOME more often. Hey, you guys might even see him once in a while now! No word on what his official schedule will be yet, but we do know that it will be fairly consistent.
So, that's the recent Q update. Chaos, chaos, and more chaos. What else should I expect?

Playing Together
I can't get over how much they look alike! And the tongue sticking out is Kel's favorite smile right now. This girl just can't resist sticking it out at you if you smile at her. She's also started to "beat box". LOL. Constant chatter and sounds. James is the only one who can consistently make her laugh. She absolutely adores him.

2 more randoms....
Kel rolled over today for the first time!
And here's a link to her 3 month photos. Another awesome shoot by Megan.

Hodge Podge
Yet again, I struggle to get the blog updated. I think I'm going to have to give up on attempting to be witty/charming/intelligent/whatever and just throw the pictures in and hope I remember why I took them later. That should be faster. LOL
So, here are a few randoms (in no particular order). If Kel lasts a few minutes in the bumbo and James doesn't drive me insane with the incessant "Why"s then I just might get some commentary added too.
This is James' new favorite "toy".....The first time he climbed up he yelled from the top "Mommy, Look! I'm TALL". He was so proud. Q and I about died of laughter and then took a picture before forcing him to get down.
Q and Kel watching sports center.....
This is a cake I made for a friend's birthday. It's a miniature layer cake (6" round, 3" high, 3 layers). Double chocolate cake with chocolate European butter cream frosting.
Pretty darn close to the one on the book cover, if I do say so myself. For my first attempt at something this complicated I think it came out rather well.

While I was on maternity leave q's preschool did a "preschool play date" where parents could come for the morning and join in the fun. I signed up since I was home for the summer and it was great one on one time for both of us. This is the crown q made as one of the crafts.....and yes, he did pick his own outfit :-)
James is always asking to "hold" Kel. One day a few weeks (months?) ago, he pulled her into his lap and said "Mommy, I'm playing 'pass the baby'. It's your turn now." That's another one that required a photo before I told him it wasn't okay. He's just so darn cute and funny that it's hard to be firm with him sometimes.
